The PM4280A bracket assembly carries the hold-down on Multico PM10, PM12 and PM16 mortisers made after 1992. The hold-down keeps the work on the table as the chisel comes back up out of the mortise.
On machines built before 1992 the hold-down was attached to the fence instead, so this bracket is not the part for them. If your hold-down hangs from the fence, your machine predates the bracket.
