Frequently asked questions

Which chisel bush do I need?

It depends on the collar of your chisel. Imported machines take ¾″ chisels and British machines 13/16″. On the Multico PM series, the PM3875 bush takes a ¾″ collar, the PM3921 a 13/16″ collar and the PM4146 a ⅝″ collar.
How do I sharpen a mortise chisel?

Sharpen the inside bevel with a diamond cone, hone the outside faces on a stone, and touch up the spurs of the auger bit with a file. Our MCL cone sharpener covers chisels from 3 to 25 mm (⅛″ to 1″).
Who made Multico machines?

In the UK, Multico machines were made by Kiné Engineering Co. Ltd at Salfords, near Redhill in Surrey. Multico's export director, H. G. W. Bucknell, was honoured for services to export in the New Year Honours of 1977. Multico SARL, which runs this shop, is registered in Saint-Rémy, Burgundy.
What sizes does the Multico vacuum press come in?

Six complete kits, named by bag size: 100 × 150, 200 × 150, 300 × 150, 400 × 150, 400 × 200 and 400 × 280 cm. The vacuum press page explains the glue, breather mesh and platen to use with them.
