Multico vacuum press, complete kit, 100 × 150 cm

A complete vacuum press kit with a 100 × 150 cm bag, sized for smaller veneering jobs such as box lids, drawer fronts and marquetry panels.

Put the work in the bag, switch on, and the pump draws the air out until the atmosphere presses the veneer down at about 8.5 tonnes per square metre, evenly.

In the kit:

• a polyurethane bag, 0.5 mm thick;
• a Becker VT 4.8 vacuum pump;
• a pump-to-bag connection hose;
• a connection valve;
• a bag closing system;
• a rubber gasket;
• breather mesh.

Glue: use a urea-formaldehyde glue or a veneer-grade PVA. Contact cement, hot-melt and ordinary yellow PVA are not for vacuum work.

Set-up: press on a rigid, grooved platen, because the panel comes out only as flat as the board beneath it.
