Multico vacuum press, complete kit, 200 × 150 cm

A complete vacuum veneer press kit, built round a 200 × 150 cm polyurethane bag and an oil-free Becker VT 4.8 pump.

The pump pulls the bag down to 150 mbar absolute, so the air outside clamps the work at about 8.5 tonnes per square metre, the same everywhere. Polyurethane bags stay tougher and more flexible than vinyl, especially in a cold workshop.

In the kit:

• a polyurethane bag, 0.5 mm thick;
• a Becker VT 4.8 vacuum pump;
• a pump-to-bag connection hose;
• a connection valve;
• a bag closing system;
• a rubber gasket;
• breather mesh.

Pump: the VT 4.8 moves 8 m³/h, draws 0.37 kW and runs dry. Becker calls it virtually maintenance-free.

Glue: urea-formaldehyde, such as Cascamite (about 3 hours at 20 °C), or a veneer-grade PVA. Never contact cement, hot-melt or standard yellow PVA.

Breather mesh: lay it over the work so air can reach the port from every corner; without it, the bag seals early and leaves dead zones.
