Polyurethane bandsaw tyres, 10 × 3 mm, pair

A pair of 10 mm polyurethane tyres, 3 mm thick, for small bandsaw wheels from 153 to 173 mm across.

A groove or crack in the tyre shows as a blade that will not hold its line. Polyurethane is stretched on rather than glued, and it resists the hardening and cracking that end a rubber tyre's life.

Measure:

1. Take the old tyre off.
2. Measure the bare wheel's diameter.
3. Measure the rim width.

Fit:

1. Soak them in 48–60 °C tap water, 5–10 minutes.
2. Never use boiling water.
3. Start opposite the seam, with clamps and a rounded tool.
4. Let the tyre cool before you tension a blade.
