Multico vacuum press, complete kit, 300 × 150 cm

A woodworking vacuum press kit with a 300 × 150 cm bag, long enough for tabletops, doors and long veneered panels.

On work this size, two details decide the result. The platen must be rigid and grooved so air can escape from beneath the panel, and breather mesh must run the full length so no pocket of air is left unpressed.

In the kit:

• a polyurethane bag, 0.5 mm thick;
• a Becker VT 4.8 vacuum pump;
• a pump-to-bag connection hose;
• a connection valve;
• a bag closing system;
• a rubber gasket;
• breather mesh.

The Becker VT 4.8 pump is oil-free and draws the bag to 150 mbar absolute, which gives about 8.5 t/m² of clamping over the whole panel.

Glue: choose a urea-formaldehyde glue or a veneer-grade PVA; avoid contact cement and hot-melt, which do not work under vacuum.
