The five-step headstock pulley for the Tyme Avon and Classic lathes, with its indexing ring. Moving the belt from step to step changes the spindle speed; the indexing ring lets you divide the work into equal parts for fluting or marking out.
Replace a pulley with chipped steps or a worn bore that lets it rock on the spindle. After fitting, check that the belt sits squarely in each step.
