Measure across the collet that holds the auger on your machine: 19 mm on the Model M, 16 mm on the Model K. The collets in a set fit only its own augers, and every chisel in these sets has a 13/16″ collar.
The PM10, PM12 and PM16; the PM20 and PM21; the PM22 and PM22T; the MCD, MCT and MX; the Model M (M1, M3); the Model K (K1, K3); and the HM, HML and HMT. Many parts are shared across several models.
Measure the round collar at the top of your chisel, not its cutting width. Chisels made for imported machines have a ¾″ (19 mm) collar and take the PM3875 bush; chisels made for British machines have a 13/16″ (20.6 mm) collar and take the PM3921. A ⅝″ (15.9 mm) collar takes the PM4146. All three are listed for the Multico PM10, PM12, PM16, PM20, PM21, PM22 and PM22T.
About 0.8 mm (1/32″) for chisels up to ¾″, and about 1.6 mm (1/16″) for larger ones. Set it with a coin as a spacer.
Turn a sharpening cone inside the chisel, against the inside bevels, then rub the outside faces flat on a stone. Touch up the spurs of the auger bit with a file. Our MCL cone sharpener is listed for chisels from 3 to 25 mm (⅛″ to 1″).
